We are looking for a skilled programmer to help in the development and evolution of our research, portfolio management, and trading platforms. Specifically, we are looking for demonstrated experience using a variety of technologies to design and code solutions to difficult problems. Knowledge of specific languages (Java and SQL in particular) and platforms (Linux and Windows) is a plus, but more important is an understanding of the basic frameworks (object-oriented programming, relational databases, networking, file systems, etc.). In addition, experience dealing with challenges involving any or all of the following would be helpful: real-time data processing, multi-threaded programming, socket programming, string parsing. An ideal candidate will also have a strong mathematics background and in particular be familiar with the basic concepts from linear algebra. Finally, it is essential to be able to work productively and independently with a variety of technologies and platforms, using the best tool for each job.
