Quality Assurance – Transfer Agency Systems

This is a 4 month contract in Boston

Ideal candidate will have 2 years of Fund Accounting experience with some QA - can learn the Quality assurance portion on site.

Will be testing a fully integrated system that addresses all the major functions of transfer agency and shareholder record-keeping administration. It is an end-to-end solution that enables you to easily manage all aspects of shareholder interaction, from account activity to shareholder profiles to contact history.

Responsibilities:

* Review functional specifications for new features and translate functional requirements to testing requirements and product both high-level and detailed testing documents.
* Execute tests and report defects.

Requirements:
* Candidates must have an accounting or finance degree.
* Candidate must have 1 to 2 years experience Transfer Agency functions and/or Shareholder Account practices.
* Previous experience with testing and/or quality assurance required.
* Previous experience with the MSHARE product highly desirable.
* Must demonstrate initiative; be able to perform well under pressure and to handle a variety of complicated tasks.
* Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills in English are required.

Senior Storage Engineer (NetApp)

Full time position
Financial client in downtown Boston


Overview
Our client is seeking a Senior Storage Engineer to join the System Engineering team who are responsible for design, maintenance, security, recovery, and support of the Storage Infrastructure. The person in the role will design, architect, and implement storage and backup solution in the mixed environment of Unix/Windows operating systems. Responsibilities Include: Develop and integrate disk storage based snapshots to provide mechanism for immediate snapback if a system needs to be restored rapidly due to application or operating system corruption of data. Develop and document standards/procedures/strategies/scripts that maximize the functionality and reliability while minimizing downtime. Provide technical assistance for applications installs, backup/recovery strategies, to address applications performance issues and general platform problem analysis.

Requirements:
• Deploy storage solutions into new and existing environments.
• Diagnose and resolve problems in multiple storage environments, coordinating with coworkers and vendors as necessary to facilitate maximum availability of client applications in financial and other mission critical environments.
• Work with clients and sales team to determine data storage requirements in business development opportunities.
• Perform storage workload modeling and prediction for sizing and troubleshooting.
• Perform capacity planning and reporting to ensure efficient use of storage.
• Closely monitor server storage performance and utilization, identify problems and recommend/implement solutions.
• Maintain replication relationships and recovery environments.
• Implement and document recovery procedures.
• Support recovery in the event of systems failure or disaster.
• Provide post-installation training and technical support to clients and coworkers.

Qualifications:
• 8-10 years of Storage Experience
• Must have a thorough understanding of Network Appliance (NetApp) products and architectures specifically 3xxx series and 6xxx series
• Experience with site to site and DR replication (ie SnapMirror and SnanVault)
• In-depth knowledge of general storage technologies: iSCSI, FC, SAN, NAS, DAS.
• Cisco MDS 9000 series switches knowledge.
• Compellent Storage Knowledge is a Plus.
• Prior experience or familiarity with alternative storage products is desirable.
• Solid understanding of networking and distributed computing concepts, including principles of network-routing client/server applications.
• Solid understanding of NFS and CIFS administration in a NetApp Environment.
• Knowledge of Distributed File Systems (DFS) beneficial.
• Comprehensive Experience in deploying and managing MS Active Directory, MS Exchange, and MS SQL Server.
• Understanding and Implementing ILM Policy with Tiered Storage.
• Prior experience deploying NetApp solutions in the field.
• Experience deploying and maintaining FibreChannel and layer 2/3 Ethernet networks.
• At least five years of experience in a technical support role in one or more computing environments.
• *NIX administration, and scripting knowledge desirable.
• Experience Virtualization Technologies a plus.
• Strong client focus and management of client expectations.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent teamwork skills.
• Ability to present and explain technical information to diverse audiences
• Ability to write clear proposals and technical documents.
• Strong interpersonal skills at all levels of management and ability to motivate team members to apply skills and techniques to solve dynamic problems.

Business Systems Analyst

Contract to hire Business Systems Analyst


Responsibilities include:

-Gaining a complete understanding of the problem presented
-Analyzing and developing a number of different solutions to the problem
-Identifying pros and cons to each solution and working with the team to come up with the plan of action
-Gathering and documenting business requirements
-Understanding clients' business above and beyond the immediate requirements
-Converting requirements into functional specifications
-Working with department members to determine timetable for user requests
-Using prior systems design experience to translate client business requirements into application Logical Designs that conform to the application architecture
-Developing an in-depth understanding of the core business functionality for specific sub-systems within our application and leveraging off existing functionality to satisfy new client requirements

-Acting as the main liaison between the business users and the development staff to ensure proper implementation of requirements within the expected timetable

-Conducting interviews with business, technical, and problem experts to identify and communicate issues and gathering comprehensive information for use in problem identification and resolution
-Ensuring that proper documentation is completed and distributed in a timely manner to communicate status and resolution of issues
-Working with third-party suppliers to implement new system or modify existing tools
-Consulting directly with clients, system architect, client managers, development staff, and business analysts to complete logical designs
-Resolving open issues, clearly identifying and explaining base assumptions, and explaining the Logical Design in a manner understandable to business user and developer
