Department Profile:
The IT Security and Market Data team is responsible for overseeing the security of company data by supporting security applications and market data infrastructure. The team manages server and endpoint security, edge security, regulatory compliance, market data, and operational security and market data concerns.
Overview:
Reporting to the Manager of IT Infrastructure Security and Market Data, this position is part of the IT Infrastructure group. The Market Data Manager has primary responsibility for the management of Market Data Systems (MDS) activities. This role interfaces with various business units within company to insure that market data needs are being met, including the IT Security Engineer for MDS infrastructure support and IT Operations for support of MDS data movement. Additionally, contract management, audit and billing support fall within this role.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Works with business units to insure that current market data needs are met, and plans for future needs.
• Assists in performing product evaluations and recommends market data products/services.
• Performs proactive research on new and existing market data products.
• Fulfills incoming general requests for market data, including data feeds, workstations (Bloomberg, Reuters, and FactSet), new product research, trials and application integration.
• Manages market data contract negotiation and renewal processes in conjunction with business units, Legal, and Finance.
• Manages and participates in the troubleshooting process for all market data issues, in conjunction with the IT Security Engineer and the Desktop Support team.
• Responsible for relationship management with all market data vendors, such as Reuters, Bloomberg, FactSet, MSCI and S&P.
• Manages market data billing, including cost allocation, approvals, and maintenance of cost management accounting system (MDSL).
• Regularly audits market data usage to eliminate redundant costs and unutilized data charges.
• Performs periodic exchange compliance audits.
• Manages audit and reporting requests from market data vendors and exchanges.
• Creates/maintains documentation for supported systems, is involved in DR/BCP planning.
• Works with IT security engineer to insure high availability of all market data infrastructure, and participates in high availability testing.
• Works with IT Security Engineer to ensure adequate infrastructure capacity in order to meet the expanding data needs of the organization.
• Responds to market data incidents 24 x 7.
• Participates in scheduled off-hours configuration changes, service outage upgrades, and DR/BCP testing.
• Identifies and supports quality improvement initiatives.
Mandatory requirements:
• Undergraduate degree in technology discipline or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of market data systems experience
• 5+ years experience in the financial services industry

You will act as the hands-on technical resource for implementation and maintenance of our teams technical tools, including Web analytics, site search (both Omniture), and other technology products, as needed.
For Web analytics, you will ensure that our code and tools are properly configured, solve technical reporting issues, create scheduled and ad hoc reports, and present information in user-friendly formats. You will work closely with content owners, designers, developers, our Usability team, and others to design and implement appropriate approaches to collecting metrics that support decision making.
