JavaScript Programmer - part time

Around 30 hours a week (flexible on how days/times to make up that 30 hours)

Description:

We are looking for a 30 hr/wk contractor to join our Web Services and Usability team. You will be primarily responsible for maintenance of our prospective advisor website and applications, which requires innovative problem-solving skills, the ability to code JavaScript from scratch, and impeccable attention to detail. You will also act as a technical resource for many of our team’s other projects including translating paper prototypes into cross-browser compliant front-end solutions, and creating innovative technical solutions to interface challenges. Qualified candidates will have 3-5 years of experience working on the web.

Responsibilities:
• Maintain our prospective advisor site
• Work with usability specialists, web designers, and software engineers to translate paper prototypes into HTML/CSS prototypes
• Implement and maintain technical features on our websites
• Provide technical expertise to the team and assist in various Web Team tasks as needed

Requirements:
• Expert in HTML, XHTML, CSS, and Javascript
• Familiarity with ASP.NET, AJAX, SharePoint, and Content Management Systems (RedDot knowledge a plus)

Financial Business Systems Analyst with UML

This is a full time position at an investment firm in Boston.

Overview:
Reporting to the Client and Marketing Services Development Manager, the Business Analyst will work within our Client & Corporate Systems Development Group on a variety of projects. This person will collaborate with the business community to create business requirements documents, and also with the software development group to convey, clarify, and/or improve the stated requirements and solutions. Analysis will comprise enhancements to existing systems as well as the creation of new systems. This individual will translate business needs into functional specifications to ensure that the business partners’ functional requirements are fulfilled and that all systems conform to the specifications. In addition, the Business Analyst will work with business users and/or Quality Assurance to ensure that test plans for each of the enhancements are executed and that the final deliverables are accepted in a timely fashion. This individual will also keep the project managers apprised of the status of assigned tasks. In this role, the Business Analyst will interact with many areas of the organization, and will be required to work closely with all members of the project teams. This position is based in Boston, MA.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Elicit the business community’s requirements for enhancing existing systems and creating new applications
• Work with the project manager to document the product’s vision and the project’s scope, analyzing systems and processes to identify gaps and opportunities
• Create detailed requirements documentation, including text, examples, workflows, and other diagrams where appropriate to facilitate understanding of the requirements
• Write requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural language simply, clearly, unambiguously, and concisely
• Manage the requirements specifications, working as part of a team of in-house staff and outside consultants to confirm and implement the required changes

Mandatory Requirements:

• 3-5 years experience in a business analyst role, including experience writing business requirements documents and QA test plans
• 3+ years experience in the financial services industry, preferably in the asset management sector
• 2-3 years experience with database applications, software development, and implementation projects

The development team currently consists of three developers out of Boston, and four developers offshore. Job Summary

Using advanced knowledge of applications development techniques and methodologies, assumes responsibility for developing applications that meet the needs of the Company. Architects and implements applications that leverage the services of Microsoft’s SharePoint server system. Develops, maintains and supports administrative department applications. Performs transfer of data between system, implements and tests security and monitors database files for accuracy. Essential Job Functions

2 Contract Performance Business Analysts

Client is a well established and rapidly growing financial firm in Boston.

2 contract positions open.


This is a seasoned BA who has specialized knowledge of investment performance and analysis including experience in the areas of asset allocation; asset classes; absolute return strategies; and performance measurement, attribution, and evaluation.

2 contractors needed for the development of the new Global Performance Reporting System. New system development is currently in the early, early stages of requirements gathering/documentation.

Primary Responsibilities:
* Work with business users to develop and document business rules and requirements for performing investment performance analysis
* Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.
* Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true business needs.
