Financial Windows Application Developer (.NET)

Client is a mid sized investment firm in Boston.

Multiple positions open for both a permanent employee and a contractor.

Any quantitative/research/analytical experience or Matlab is a big plus.


The Windows Applications Developer would work closely with business users, developers and third parties to identify areas where technology could be leveraged to enhance the investment process. The candidate would design and implement software solutions to provide financial analysis, streamline workflow process, and automate trading.


Primary Responsibilities:

• Propose and design technical solutions.
• Architect, build or expand existing applications for research, trading, reporting and analysis across the firm.
• Implement applications based on the solutions proposed and work closely with users to test and integrate the applications into the current production environment.
• Support the applications developed as well as legacy systems.


Mandatory requirements:

• Undergraduate degree in technology discipline.
• 3 years experience developing Windows applications with .NET.
• Experience designing complex applications with .NET (VB or C#), C++ or Java.
• Experience using relational databases.


Skills:

• Excellent communication skills – both written and oral.
• Mathematics or other analytical background would be a plus.
• Knowledge of Matlab would be a plus.

• Self-starter, able to work as part of a small team as well as independently, with minimal supervision.
• High energy, positive attitude, professional and mature.
• Detail-oriented, able to prioritize work and effectively manage multiple tasks.
• Interest in Finance and Economics.
