Senior Release Engineer

Client is a $200 billion mutual fund firm in the Back Bay area of Boston.

This is a permanent position.

Job Description:
-The Release Engineering Architect is a subject matter expert in release engineering and is responsible for the design, implementation, and effective and efficient maintenance of related technologies. In addition, this individual has expert knowledge of Information Technology at large, with a firm understanding of related disciplines and how they interoperate.
-Serves as key subject matter expert in the field of release engineering, maintaining a deep understanding of the field and its related technologies.
-Using a full understanding of approved application life cycle phases, participates in strategic planning, project management, process reengineering, and code release management.
-Promotes application objects (i.e. code, reports, text files) from a development or staging environment to a production environment using tools appropriate for application deployment.
-Provides technical support to ensure the ongoing efficient and reliable operations of related information systems.
-Proactively develops and maintains strong knowledge of information systems and their related components.
-Leverages technology to automate manual tasks, and seeks to improve efficiency wherever practicable and appropriate.
-Develops, enforces and maintains Information Security controls, procedures, and standards.
-Receives broad goals and overall objectives from Management and proactively establishes and implements the methods to attain them.
-Leads projects and is directly accountable for meeting project objectives including timelines and budgeting.
-Serves as mentor to other technical team members, and presents technology briefings to IT and business line management as required.
-Researches and implements industry best practices.
-Correlates technology advancements and implementation plans with business benefits.

Requirements:
-Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related technical field. Master's degree or equivalent preferred.
-Ten or more years of related Information Technology experience.
-Considered subject matter expert in the area.
-Strong knowledge of multiple technologies, platforms, and programming languages.
-Solid understanding of Systems Development Life Cycle models.
-Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
-Demonstrated financial skills.
-Demonstrated ability to work effectively with employees at all organizational levels through well-honed interpersonal, communication, negotiation, presentation and relationship-building skills.
-Proven ability to manage complex projects and related resources efficiently and to meet all project objectives.
