This is a full time, permanent position.
BASIC PURPOSE:
The Web Engineer II is a technical resource in the Web support team and is responsible for the implementation and effective and efficient maintenance of related technologies. In addition, this individual has broader knowledge of Information Technology at large, with an understanding of related disciplines and how they interoperate. The Web Engineer II will be an active participant and contributor for leading implementation and troubleshooting efforts and aiding in design efforts.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serves as senior subject matter expert in the field of Web technologies, maintaining a strong understanding of the field and its related technologies.
Provides technical support to ensure the ongoing efficient and reliable operations of related information systems.
Proactively develops and maintains strong knowledge of information systems and their related components, and makes recommendations to improve the reliability, scalability, performance, or security of these systems as appropriate. This includes proactive performance tuning and capacity analysis to ensure company is maximizing its technology investment.
Leverages technology to automate manual tasks, and seeks to improve efficiency wherever practicable and appropriate.
Enforces and maintains company Information Security controls, procedures, and standards. Aids in the development of controls, procedures and standards as required.
Receives broad goals and overall objectives from Management and assists in establishing and implementing the methods to attain them.
Accountable for meeting assigned project objectives including timelines and budgeting.
Serve as technical mentor other members of the team.
Implements/administers Web technologies using web application servers (IBM Websphere and Portal, Apache, IIS, ColdFusion).
Good knowledge of operating systems (UNIX, Linux, NT) and application hardening experience.
A solid understanding of Java classes, foundations and framework strongly preferred.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Strong subject matter expertise in the field, with familiarity with other related Information Technologies.
Solid understanding of Systems Development Life Cycle models
Demonstrated ability to interact and communicate well with members of senior management.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
Strong organizational and financial skills.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related technical field.
Four or more (4+) years of related Information Technology experience.
