Description
The cloud architect will accountable for the creation of the cloud architecture, design, and technology roadmap. In coordination with technology Subject Matter Experts and third-party technology partners, the cloud architect will orchestrate the definition of the cloud architecture from design through prototype phases including the development of all standards. The cloud architect will ensure that all required technology components are designed and assembled in concert accounting for future directions and strategies. The cloud architect will also be accountable for technical leadership during full-scale platform implementation, and the transition of cloud competencies and governance to IT operations.

Skills

• Strong Knowledge of Cloud Computing concepts and methodologies

• Strong Knowledge of contemporary Data Center Hosting models including

• Storage

• Virtualization – Vmware platform expertise a major plus

• Compute – Windows, Linux/Unix operating systems and operations

• Networking

• Security

• Desktop – Virtualized (Server Hosted and Streaming)

• Database

• IT Systems Management

• Strong knowledge of SOA concepts and methodologies

• Strong knowledge of IT operations processes

• Strong knowledge of ITIL processes

• Strong knowledge of IT operations automation

• Strong knowledge of high-availability design and related technologies

• Understanding of IT infrastructure chargeback methodologies

Experience

• 10 years experience in IT infrastructure

• Track record of delivering transformational infrastructure projects

• Experience in the design of cloud infrastructures

• Designing and Implementing highly scalable virtual server platforms

• Experience with the design and deployment of data center infrastructure components (Network, Storage, Server, Virtualization)

• Experience with the development of multi-year technology plans

• Experience with the development of models for IT operational processes



Education

Education – Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field

Certification – ITIL process – Strong Plus

Certification in Vmware virtualization technology a plus
