Cloud Platform Specialist - Boston, MA

Full time, permanent position in Boston.

The Cloud Platform Specialist will work directly with the Cloud Architect and third-party technology partners in the creation of the cloud design and technology roadmap utilizing detailed knowledge and experience in the required technologies. The Specialist will utilize the cloud design/definition to prototype/build and administer the next-generation private cloud capabilities. The Cloud Specialists will use their collective skills across multiple technology disciplines to accomplish the build out, partnering with IT engineering and operations teams.

Skills
• Strong administrator skills in Windows, Linux, Unix

• Strong administrator skills on enterprise storage technologies

• Skills building and configuring virtualized infrastructures

• Strong administrator skills building and configuring enterprise network systems

• Advanced automation development skills

• Strong knowledge of automated deployment and testing technologies

• Strong knowledge of IT security processes

• Strong knowledge of virtualized desktop deployments

• Strong knowledge of systems management and monitoring deployments

• Deep understanding of database platform technologies

• Understanding of IT infrastructure chargeback methodologies



Experience

• 5-10 years experience in IT infrastructure

• Proven track record of delivering complex IT infrastructure technologies across multiple disciplines

• Experience building and configuring large scale virtualized environments exploiting the advanced feature sets of hypervisor technologies.

• Experience building and configuring Windows, Unix, and Linux server environments. Building on a virtualized platform a plus.

• Experience implementing automated IT operational configurations using multiple technologies

• Experience building and configuring enterprise-class data networks.

• Experience building and configuring enterprise class storage environments (NAS,SAN)

• Experience with the technologies and techniques related to automated deployment and testing

• Experience with Open Systems software a plus


Education

Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field

Certification in hypervisor technologies (VSphere, Hyper-V, RHEV, KVM)

Desired - Certification in multiple operation system platforms, networking, storage, security
