Senior Business Systems Analyst

Client: $170 billion asset management firm in Back Bay area of Boston.

Using discretion and judgment, assists clients in developing systems strategies to reach goals and enhance efficiency. Evaluates and prioritizes requests for enhancements to investment systems and acts as team lead for ad-hoc groups formed to develop and implement solutions to multi-user systems needs.

* Works with investment department members to help develop system strategies tailored to business functions. Learns clients' needs and assists in setting priorities. Coordinates resources and assists in managing users' expectations.
* Acts as initial client contact for evaluating application needs. Oversees process for reviewing and evaluating all end-user requests for systems projects. Determines time table for user requests.
* Responsible for writing up Functional Specifications for development team from user requests. Works with outside consultants when appropriate.
* Assists BA Manager in tracking issues and statuses around functional specifications and data requirements for the new releases of investment systems.
* Assumes additional responsibilities as requested.

Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a business or computer related field.
* Minimum of six to seven years' experience performing systems support and analysis in the financial services or technology industry.
* Ability to take initiative to utilize resources and communicate with others both orally and in writing.
* Proven analytical skills and demonstrated ability to make independent decisions and develop creative solutions to meet business needs.
* Project management and systems solutions implementation experience preferred.
