Senior QA Manager

Full time, permanent position in Boston.

Skills:
· Bachelor's Degree in computer sciences or related area. Minimum 8+ years of QA or related experience.

· Must have "hands-on" expertise and domain experiences in testing lifecycle for enterprise system design and implementation - Unix/Linux/Windows.

· Must be fluent in test automation & continuous integration frameworks & implementation.

· This is both the coach & player role

· Must have solid interpersonal, organizational, communication & negotiation skill with experiences in managing QA functions in shared service organization



Responsibilities:

1. Define and lead the definition of overall test strategy including test automation & continuous integration, for a logical grouping of applications (Market Risk, Credit Risk, Data, Shared Services) within a unit as well as shared service framework component

2. Define and lead the definition and implementation of test resource plans, for a logical grouping of applications

3. Provide testing process leadership to ensure deployment of test resources to the lifecycle, in iterative development process.

4. Provide system definition and design support. Serves as technical, subject matter resource for testing, development and business line staff.

5. Define Test architect for complex, cross-business units group efforts, working with peers in business and development

6. Contribute to performance appraisals for resources assigned to the project in a virtual team or matrix project structure

7. Responsible for the effective management, development and implementation of programs to ensure that software meets functional and non functional requirements.

8. Ensure quality is consistent throughout product life cycle and ensures that software is tested thoroughly by leading the definition of test strategy and test plans and cases, and monitoring the execution of those cases according to an established, documented, consistent test methodology

9. Management of staff

Hires and manages performance and development of staff members
Contributes to budget recommendations relative to salary increases, promotions and bonuses
Monitors direct reports’ performance and conducts performance appraisals
Manages vendor relationships at a senior level, including Statements of Work and relationship evaluations
Contributes to performance appraisals for resources assigned to the project in a virtual team or matrix project structure
