Fixed Income Business Analyst

Full time permanent position in Boston
Client is a Global Investment firm headquartered in Boston

Business analyst experienced in trade processing, with sound knowledge of Fixed Income and Derivatives, is required to work within the technology department to perform detailed analysis of requirements, liaise with the Derivatives and Fixed Income business groups and external parties. The candidate will demonstrate experience in working with the front, middle and back office to define detailed requirements and working alongside the technical resources to build technical solutions.

The successful candidate will be able to discuss business requirements in detail exhibiting a good understanding of financial products and business controls. The BA will own the relationship with the users. This will include front office (trading and sales), market and credit risk, middle office, operations and other external third party system owners. The candidate will be equally at ease discussing business and technical issues, and will be able to lead solution discovery.

• Clear, complete and accurate documentation of user requirements and functional specifications

• Running workshops to explain and walk through business requirements

• Definition and delivery of a test strategy, test plans and test scripts.

• Execute system functional testing.

• UAT support.

• Problem solving and responsibility for issue resolution.

• Training users and post production support staff.

• Working with Middle Office and Back Office systems owners in defining Middle Office and Back Office systems requirements.

• Defining system interface requirements to other external systems.

• Potentially liaising with external resources to determine business requirements

• Bachelors Degree in technology, finance, business or equivalent.

• Min 5 years Business analysis

• Business analysis skill set with extreme attention to detail and problem solving abilities.

• Excellent functional testing capabilities

• Demonstrable experience and knowledge of trade capture, pricing, risk management and end to end process flows of the relevant products (i.e., bonds, interest rate swaps, cross currency swaps, basis swaps, interest rate futures. Strong understanding of derivatives accounting a plus

• Basic knowledge of SQL a plus

• Experienced in the full project lifecycle.

• Excellent (clear and concise) verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

• Experienced in taking responsibility for investigating, finding solutions and closing issues.

• Experienced in managing dependencies and deliverables across business lines
