Description
The incumbent will be part of a development team supporting Financial Derivatives applications within the Investments Division. This person will work with business, operations and systems teams to drive optimal solutions that are aligned with business/systems architecture while providing industry best practices and regulatory mandates to the solutions. An ideal candidate will possess hands on development experience with OpenLink AVS and/or Java/C#, hands on experience with database and SQL queries, strong systems analysis skills and knowledge of financial and accounting systems.
Responsibilities will include:
Develop business process automation solutions using the OpenLink Findur toolkit.
Build and maintain batch jobs and reports using the OpenLink AVS scripting language as well as find avenues to re-engineer AVS scripts using Java/C#.
Provide technical support for day to day operations of OpenLink Findur Derivatives System.
Build complex SQL queries and look for ways to make database queries more efficient.
Play a key role in design, development, testing and implementation phases of various strategic initiatives within the Investments Division.
Establish good working relationships with technology and operations teams, business partners, and shared services teams within the company.
Understand business needs and regulatory requirements and identify business process automation solutions to improve operational efficiency and to ensure that proper controls are in place.
Follow established coding standards, release and compliance processes along with required documentation, and version control process.
Required Skills and Experience
University degree (Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent)
At least 5 years of hands-on financial and/or accounting application development experience.
Solid experience with OpenLink Endur/Findur and AVS Scripting is strongly preferred.
Experience with data modeling, SQL queries and stored procedure is a must.
Comprehensive working knowledge for both Windows and UNIX server environments.
Skilled in IBM Rational ClearCase, CVS or Subversion Version Control.
Ability to work in a globally distributed team is a must.
Desired Skills
Strong background in C, C++, Java or C# is a huge plus.
Experience with Sybase and/or MS SQL Server is preferred.
Skilled in Informatica is desirable but not a must.
FINDUR, Summit, Murex, Calypso or similar derivatives application knowledge is preferred.
Working knowledge of agile development methodology is desirable but not a must.
