Our client, a financial services firm in Boston, is looking to hire a Linux Engineer on a contract, contract to perm or direct permanent basis.
In person interviews are required therefore local candidates are preferred.
Client is seeking a Linux Engineer
to join the IT Infrastructure team. This individual will solve general and
complex Linux issues, work with various development teams on engineering,
implementation, and operational tasks. The candidate
will join a team that is responsible for daily Linux admin/support duties,
including on call support and monitoring. This candidate will work with business
and technical teams to design and support solutions to meet their needs.
Requirements:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, a similar technical subject, or 5+ years of work experience

3+ years engineering experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and shell scripting Experience supporting a 24x7 datacenter

Experience administering Unix servers in an enterprise environment

Demonstrated hands on experience with enterprise server hardware

Experience participating in technical reviews

Experience supporting proprietary applications on Linux/Unix

Proficiency with NFS, DNS, TCP/IP, SSH, LDAP, SMTP, and load balancing

Strong analytical and research skillsCapability to effectively interact with outside users on technical matters
