SQL Server Architect / Developer

Client is a growing asset management firm in Boston.

Looking for contract or contract to hire candidates. Candidates with financial services experience preferred. Candidates must be local or be able to get themselves to Boston for an interview.


Description: Candidates must be able to do database architecture as well as develop code loaders, and stored procedures while considering performance and scalability issues. The work includes restructuring, re-architecting and enhancing of databases used for quantitative research and portfolio management (mainly market pricing and fundamentals). The consultant will be responsible for developing a database from scratch (design, development, and implementation).

-10+ years experience developing database applications.
-Heavy experience tuning DB's for performance and reliability
-Experience designing and building database systems.
-Experience developing applications with Microsoft SQL Server as a backend.
-Must have deep experience with SQL Server Database Internals.
-Experience with multidimensional databases/OLAP.
-Experience with .NET (VB or C#) and MatLab would be a plus.
-Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services, Reporting Services or Analysis Services.
-Previous experience building databases for an investment management firm is highly preferred.
