Lead Accounting System Business Analyst - Boston, MA

Permanent opportunity in Boston at a global investment firm.


· Minimum 10 plus years of business analysis experience supporting large size projects.

· Accountable for overseeing virtual teams, managing and coordinating multiple business initiatives to identify, analyze, document and communicate solutions related to extremely complex processing, service and/or technical improvement opportunities.

· Hedge fund experience

· Derivatives experience

· Basic SQL skills

· Experience with the accounting system Lawson is a huge plus or Findur

· Ensure successful implementation of new technologies and new product development.

· Responsible for providing support to business and systems management in addressing extremely complex and high risk business issues, conducting feasibility studies and cost/benefit analysis, assessing risk, presenting recommendations to management and implementing solutions.

· Formulate best strategy for Derivatives pertaining to system and process enhancements so that they are in line with changing industry regulations

· Familiarity with Hedge Accounting under FAS133 and IAS39

· Document Business Requirements, Technical Requirements, Functional Specifications along with Test Plans and Test Cases.

· Create business presentations which include slide decks, business cases and cost benefit analysis documents that will be used to present to business decision makers, in order to make informed decisions on business enhancements to the derivatives infrastructure.

· Manage post implementation support on all projects, work requests, implementations, and other initiatives through post implementation reviews.

· Experience with Interest Rate Swaps, Interest Rate Derivatives, Currency Swaps, FX and Forwards, Futures.

· Advanced understanding of derivatives applications and processes stemming from industry experience.

· Experience in developing derivative middle and back office /process architectures.

· Proven expertise in leading components of large size and critical projects or assignments, delegate structured assignments and monitor progress.

· Experience with derivative system upgrades and implementations

· Bachelor's Degree Required

· MBA or CFA preferred
