Open ended contract in Boston
Primary Responsibilities:
• Work with members of the business analysis team and business users to develop and document business rules and requirements for performing investment performance analysis.
• Perform analysis on existing performance analytics applications to extrapolate business rules. Model expected results of performance and risk calculations in Excel.
• Eliciting requirements using interviews, requirements workshops, business process workflow analysis, storyboarding and data modeling.
• Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true business needs.
• Document functional requirements, business rules, workflow and dataflow diagrams, and interface designs.
• Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs that may be required to meet business needs for a segment of project requirements.
Requirements:
• 4-6 years business systems analysis experience.
• Experience with performance measurement, attribution and risk analytics would be beneficial.
• Good knowledge of SQL, ability to perform detailed analysis on existing data bases and to use SQL to model data required for reporting, UI screens or in calculations.
• Strong knowledge of Excel, ability to model complex calculations and business rules related to performance and risk analytics.
• Experience with conceptual data modeling techniques, data analysis and the documentation of data conversion requirements between systems.
• Strong analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group consisting of executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
• Strong process orientation as well as meeting facilitation skills to drive progress throughout the requirements development process
• Ability to work independently with users to define concepts and to complete project tasks under direction of project managers and the ability to engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously.
• Certificate Investment in Investment Performance Management (CIPM) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or progress towards these certifications would be beneficial.
