Principal Trading Systems Developer
This position is part of the Developer team whose main focus is the development of proprietary applications and tools for traders, operations, analysts and portfolio managers.
Responsibilities:
· Develop and enhance proprietary applications
· Develop and enhance integration with external applications and data sources
· Provide second tier support for proprietary applications and related batch processing
· Mentor junior developers and support team
· Work with business users and business analysts, and assist in requirements gathering, specifications and test planning
· Work with team to establish best practices
Qualifications:
· Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science; no other major will be accepted
· 10+ years software development experience
· 4+ years experience with front-office equity portfolio management and trading systems
· 5+ years Java experience
· 5+ years SQL experience
· 2+ years experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, GWT, etc
· Positive attitude, energetic and self motivated
· Willingness to work with changing priorities and challenging schedules
· Team player with superb verbal communication and interpersonal skills

· This is a highly specifialized "hands-on" BPM SME role in integration/architecture position with design & implementation resposibilities. The main duties are:
• Leads the end-to-end BPM design and system integration with a strong product implementation knowledge in Progress Savvion, including:
- 2 + years of Savvion 7.5 experience
- Good understanding of Savvion out of box reporting infrastructure
- 1+ years building and deploying complex flows with custom adapters into a clustered Savvion environment
- Load testing experience on Savvion flows
- Capturing performance metrics on Savvion flows /adapters
- Experience in tuning BPM flows
- Savvion JDBC and LDAP realms
· This role is both the coach and an individual SME, building and maintaining a high-level of technical and business credibility with business users, system developers, and operations staff.
· Responsible for project execution as well as technical design & implementation effort; including middleware integration, business process modeling, applications framework, BPM run-time environments
· Must be highly specialized and top-level technical expert in BPM space - design and integration
· Provides development estimate & conduct/coordinates change control review
· Coordinates overall project communications, risks, and issues resolution
· Monitors end to end budget on technology projects, and technical team numbers for larger initiatives
· Must have excellent oral and written communication as this role will need to communicate effectively with business and technology management, production support, and other relevant teams regarding project status, issues and system effectiveness and share feedback.
· Strong knowledge of standard development lifecycle methodologies, specific knowledge of the Rational Unified Process a plus
· This role is both the coach and an individual SME, building and maintaining a high-level of technical and business credibility with business users, system developers, and operations staff.
· Work with a blended team of full-time employees and contractors operating at multiple locations across time zones. Job duties are varied and complex and will require excellent analytical skills and business judgment.
· Participate in all stages of the implementation process, including requirements/design, installation, configuration, customization, testing, training, knowledge transfer and operations in a leadership or individual capacity
· Provide technical leadership to project teams. Effectively navigate complex business relationships to achieve specific project and overall business relationship objectives, encourage both individual and team accomplishments and contribute to strong culture of collaboration and teamwork.
· Develop documentation that meets relevant quality standards, is technically accurate, fulfills project objectives and is presented in professional format
· Share best practices, productivity tools and contribute to knowledge sharing among team members.
